Sunday is the day for neighbourhoods, friends and families to go downtown and enjoy carnival in the streets with veedelszög and walking around all day, dressed up in fancyful disguises, of course.Since many years my sister is playing with her samba group "Ganza Absurdo" then, and I accompany them when I'm around. From the meeting at 2 pm until after sunset we walked and danced the streets, attracting people all around to swing and jump to the rhythm.
It was rather cold, no sun at all, grey sky, but that didn't keep anybody from having fun.
Today it's Rosenmontag, so back again downtown to watch the parade, cheer the carnival people, and sing all the carnival songs. And try to catch the sweets and small gifts thrown from the parade waggons. Kamelle!!!!! :)
