After my surgery on Wednesday morning, I woke up with a bandaged shoulder, tired, but pleased: doctors told me my shoulder was not as bad as everybody had thought, and it would heal fast. Anna was quite astonished when she called Arkadenklinik after her lunch break to find the phone was given over to me, and I asked her to take me back home after work.
I was very tired all day, and went to sleep early, but hardly needed any pain killers at all, and was happily eating the maultaschen and cake the kids had got me.
I'll have to take it easy for a few days, see the doctors every second day to check the wound, but otherwise I'm allowed to move my shoulder as much as I dare to. Lucky me!
Not too much typing though, so I'll take a break from this blog, and write the old fashioned way: pencil on paper. Anna had been asking me for over a year now to answer the questions in the book they gave me for my birthday: "Mama, erzähl mal". So this is a chance I will not miss. Sitting in the garden, enjoying the sun, and putting down some memories... Sounds tempting.
