Visits - No 3: Kliment

This time it was I who visited a friend: Kliment, the nice Bulgarian who hosted me in Helsinki and then we had met again and again in Greece and Germany. He moved to Cologne to work at the university some years ago, and had invited me ever so often to come and stay with him for a while. And finally I made it!
I left Stuttgart early in the morning and took the train along the beautiful Rhine valley to Cologne. Having found the right stop of the boat to Drachenfels - the meeting point for the exam celebrations tomorrow -, a Kölsch and some local food at "Gaffelhaus", I went to the cathedral to meet Kliment.
There he was, waiting for me, smiling broadly with wide open arms. He took me to his new lovely flat in Mülheim, made me feel at home, started knitting a soft shawl for my aching shoulder as soon as he heard about it, showed me around his favourite walks along the Rhine and to the art park, cooked a delicious dinner, and all the time we discussed, debated, chatted, and enjoyed each other's company.
When walking around, we found a ver.di truck, that had stopped there on the tour to promote minimum wages in Germany. Big surprise! It's the first time I had ever seen one from close by.
Tomorrow, Kliment will take me to the meeting point. He's so nice, isn't he.
