Since I first heard of the gay night at the zoo a few years ago, I was eager to go there. Last year they didn't do it, but this year they did, and I made it. Seàn and I had bought the tickets last Sunday to make sure we would have some, and met at the elephants' gate. We were curious to see what it was all about, and were happy it was as nice as we had imagined it to be: our bvg orchestra playing swing (yes, indeed: the musicians are busdrivers and ticketsellers in Berlin public transport), great singers, lots of people dancing and even more swinging to the music, and the usual beer, wine and food. You could walk around the zoo, enjoy the park, but would have no chance to see the animals. Lovely evening. Not to be missed next year.
