From dawn to dusk

It felt like dawn. But it was already 8 am. We took our time and our coffee to wake up, then I packed (I hate packing), and we went by car to my sister's for a great breakfast. Helen and her boyfriend Felix were there as well, so we were a nice crowd.
I admired the newly decorated bedroom, and the motorbikers Helen and Felix, and then it was time to say goodbye and leave with Cathy to the main station. She went to work there at the bookstore, and I took the train to Dortmund and on to Berlin.
Guess whom I met on the train? A collegue from ver.di! Turns out she had spent her childhood in Düsseldorf, and her mother lives in Eller. What a small world!
Back in Berlin after dusk I enjoyed the bus trip along the tourists' sites Reichstag, Brandenburg gate, Potsdamer Platz and more, and turned on heating and laptop as soon as I was in my flat. The guys in chat had missed me! How nice!
So I fixed my travel plans a bit, and will join Sofia and Kliment in Greece end of the month. Then on to Istanbul, and from there slowly westwards to Cannes, and later up north thru England and Germany to Estonia and Latvia. It will be really cold then, so why not go for the real winter? ;)
Talking of cold: the heating in Vaihingen is still off, and a new one will cost 7000 Euro. There go my savings and the xmas money! Sigh.
