To the midsummer party of the german-finnish society DFG I went, and had a nice time with Finns and Germans, singing and eating and drinking. German food and german drinks, alas. Most people gathered inside; there was a pianoplayer and a singer performing traditional Juhannus songs, and in between there was finnish tango. The children outside were enjoying the sun and playing a few games, just like th swedish the day before.
When I arrived, two little girls came to me and asked me whether I wanted the beautiful wreath they had done. Of course I did! They put it on my curls, and a woman took this nice picture of me. It's almost like Finland, isn't it?
When the evening got too cold, I left for home and the cats. The wreath is decorating the wall above my desk now. What a nice souvenir of a nice day!
