November 25th is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. In Germany, it's been thirty years now since the first women's house was opened to give shelter and safety to misused women in Berlin. Up to now there's more than 400 of those places all over Germany, the first opened by autonomous organisations, later by churches and townships as well. I helped a bit by giving clothes, furniture and more whenever I could. Nicole Kidman helps - she's goodwill ambassador of UNIFEM, the United Nations Development Fund for Women.
